Ravenscliffe High School is committed to providing a secure and supportive environment in which children can learn, develop, and grow into mature and responsible people. We believe that all children should be free from harm and always have their rights and welfare promoted.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and as such it is embedded throughout every aspect of the school culture and the curriculum.
Staff receive regular training, and students are made aware of who they can talk to and how we can help. Ravenscliffe adopts an individualised, sensitive and considered approach to supporting our students.
Where we have welfare or safeguarding concerns about a student, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies. We will always aim to speak with parents and carers first, unless doing so would compromise the student’s welfare or safety.
Multi-agency research tells us that young people with learning difficulties have significantly increased vulnerability within all aspects of Safeguarding. We have a dedicated, qualified and professional team of Designated Safeguarding Leads at Ravenscliffe. You can view our Safeguarding Policy and the Government’s Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance via the links below. You contact the Safeguarding Team by calling the school’s main reception, where someone will be able to put you through to a member of the team.

Support
We are committed to supporting all of our students to live safe and happy lives in and out of school. We have two Family Liaison Officers who can offer direct support and we can also refer into other agencies.
Some families may wish to seek support themselves. Please see below a list of recommended organisations who can support with a range of concerns for both young people and adults.
