At Ravenscliffe High School Preparation for Adulthood promotes SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development enabling learners to become more self-confident, responsible and independent, within their own parameters.

The Careers, Transition and Work Related Learning curriculum helps to give learners the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead healthy lives and to become informed and responsible citizens. Students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities and Work Related Learning experiences across Post 16 and beyond in all areas of the curriculum, contributing to the best of their ability, to the life of the school and the wider local community.

Ravenscliffe High School gained The Quality in Careers Standard in July 2023. This is the national quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) in secondary schools, colleges and work-based learning. The Standard is fully aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks for “Good Career Guidance”.

The Standard is “strongly recommended” by, and fully complies with, the Department for Education’s ”statutory guidance”.
